Runjia Tian

Runjia holds a Master in Design Studies, Technology degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Prior to joining the GSD, Runjia received his Bachelor in Architecture from Harbin Institute of Technology. His main interest lies in the intersection between Computer Graphics, Computational Design and Artificial Intelligence and their application within the domain of Computer-Aided Architectural Design. He previously worked and researched at AutoDesk Generative Design Group, Harvard Lab for Technologies and Harvard Kennedy School. During his time at GSD, he worked as a teaching assistant for multiple core Computational Design course including the famous SCI-6338 Introduction to Computational Design. He has been awarded Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies Student Research Grant, MDes Research and Development Grant and GSD Summer Research Grant. He has previously taught AI and Design workshop at ACADIA, DigitalFUTURES World and Harbin Institue of Technology. His reserach has been published in major CAAD conferences such as NeurIPS(Workshop), ACADIA, eCAADe, CAADRIA and CDRF. Currently, he is an AR Effects Engineer at TikTok working on the AR Effects Engine - Effect House.
