Berlin Exhibition Gallery

Evolutionary Space · De-Elemental · Berlin Exhibition

Following the first stop in Shanghai in October 2023 with the exhibition "Evolving Spaces", the second stop of the global tour with the exhibition "Under the Elements" takes place from December 2023 to January 2024 at the Berlin gallery Galerie Met. The theme of the Berlin stop of the exhibition talks about the reverse simulation between digital and real environments. With the increasing influence of the digital world, everyday human behavior shows a lag and compatibility when returning to reality. However, both environments also deconstruct and learn from themselves and generate their own evolution to adapt to our new behavioral patterns, thus creating a closed loop of development that is constantly derived.

The exhibition "Beneath the Elements" brings together evidence of creativity captured by various artists in this simulation process. Works include generative art, AI algorithmic design, AI stylized films and diffusion models, games, virtual reality, augmented reality, and performances. In addition to re-screening works from "Evolving Spaces" Shanghai, Berlin Station has worked with a number of artists to design new versions of the artwork to complement the Berlin exhibition space, and has invited local Berlin artists whose concepts are in line with those of the current exhibition to present new works.
The "Evolving Space" exhibition is a joint effort with the 706 Global Youth Space Community, and through the form of distributed exhibitions in "urban living rooms" around the world, it initiates a synchronous linkage between the communities, a "digital mobility" change in spatial art exhibitions. The exhibition is a synchronized linkage between communities and a "digital mobility" change of spatial art exhibitions. This exhibition gathers nearly twenty young digital artists of the new generation to redefine people's inherent spatial cognition through their works, and respond to the way of constructing contemporary digital life. With the help of digital media such as generative art, AI algorithm design, AI stylized film and diffusion model, games, virtual reality and augmented reality, and immersive multimedia interactions, they think about and reflect on the established way of life of human beings.
